Ching-Ray Chang

Distinguished Professor

Department of  Physics,  National Taiwan  University

Ching-Ray Chang is a distinguished professor at the department of Physics, National Taiwan University. He is currently involved in a highly successful research group carrying out computational and theoretical studies of magnetic materials within the Department of Physics, National Taiwan University. We have collaborated with a lot of experimental groups around the world in addition to our own departmental experimentalists. A very important and productive collaboration is with the experimental group in Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica. The interaction between theory and experiment generated by this collaboration makes a vital contribution to the development of both models and experimental techniques.

Qubits Meet Finances:
Bridging Quantum Computing and Financial Innovations

Keynote Speech : May 27, 2025.  (Taipei Time).
In an era where quantum computing is moving from the lab to real-world applications, its potential to revolutionize the financial industry is becoming increasingly evident. This talk will explore the intersection of quantum mechanics and economic systems, unraveling how qubits—the building blocks of quantum computation—could transform financial modeling, risk analysis, and market predictions. Quantum computers promise exponential computational power, enabling breakthroughs in complex optimization problems like portfolio management and arbitrage opportunities. We’ll discuss how quantum algorithms can accelerate derivative pricing and improve the precision of market simulations. The talk will demystify these concepts through engaging analogies and relatable examples, emphasizing how this quantum-finance convergence could reshape global economic paradigms.
